Do you have baptismal records?Joseph's mother was Tohazadan. No information re. who his father was.

Hermin thanks, I knew about the mother,although I don't know who Tohazadan is or anything about her. And to answer your question, no I con't have any baptismal records either. The census say that he was born in NE, his mother inSD and Father in Canada. I did find that Joseph Goodteacher was also married to Jane Hoffman in 1907 and Lucy Traversie in 1925

Not sure if this helps any but on the marriage listing for Oscar Gordon Goodteacher and Alvina Ester Johnson 7/15/17, his parents are listed as "Rev" Joseph Joseph Goodteacher and Mary (Chapman) Goodteacher. It may be possiblie that the church he worked for may have the records you need to see if he was adopted.

Hi Dawn, Thanks for the info I didn't have the middle names or the date of marriage. Could I have the site where you found this marriage info. I would really like to have a copy of it. Also any other info you may have. I don't know where to look to find out if Joseph was adopted. Any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

Re. Joseph Goodteacher I forgot to mention that on my card file for him,his father is listed as Peter St. John. His mother's first name was Anna. Job Goodteacher's parents were Wapaksungye, and Wakanhdikoyakewin. Job's wife Susan's parents were Wapaha and Makehdutawin.
Joseph was born Aug.22,1866 at Niobrara, NE.

Thanks Dawn for the copies, I didn't know that Alvina's mother's first name was Elizabeth, I only had her as Lavina (Trudell) Johnson. She was the wife of Robert Johnson who was the son of Isabella Johnson,Hopkins,Walker. If you have any other info I could sure use it.
