I'm looking for information on Jane Young (Cha nic se wi). She was married to a winnebago man with the name "Ma W gin e gah". I believe they lived in Winnebago,NE. John's mother said Jane's indian name was a Sioux name. They lived in Winnebago,NE and had a son named George Decora-Police. George married a Henry woman believed to be Winnie Henry, daughter of Patrick Henry. They had a son named Oscar Decora...John's grandfather. Any help on her would be great!
Thanks, Debbie

I retrieved the information off of the Vital Statistics 1863-1947 Winnebago Agency Film # 1015911. There is alot of Winnebago, Ponca and Omaha names listed, I didn't go back and check for the Indian names, so there could possibly be more information there. You can order the film from the LDS.

Wazi,
thanks for posting the information on the Decora family. It is a side project I have been working on with a friend whose father is the son of Louise Decora. All that we know is that she was the daughter of Eagle Decora and Helen Johnson. The above information really helps! I am amazed and it isnt even what i was looking for. Would anyone know where a Louise Decora might be buried. She died in an accident at a very young age. Her son Conrad was born in 1937 and we are sure she had passed on before 1950 adn we are trying to find a death date on her.
