I am a little confused. the Louisa who married David Hope was the daughter of Horned Horse nad Cayaiwin. David and Louise's dau. Ellen married Henry Chinn.
I have nothing on the LeClairs at the present time. But you might try going to ww. accessgenealogy, select Minnesota and look at the Minn. Territory Censues for 1849,1850, 1860 . I think there ae some LeClairs on one or more of the Censuses

hermin1: it is confusing for us, too-- we recently visited with a granddaughter of Louise Hope's -she remembers and told us that Louise's maiden name was Le claire. This relative was 21 years old when Louise died in 1945. I am thinking that Horned Horse must then have been a Le Claire?  ?? I will try the MN site that you suggested--- i remember Le Claires awhile back- but, of course, i can't remember where, because i didn't know they might pertain to this family. thank you for all your help and support. kit |
