I'm trying to locate any information on my g.g. grandfather Peter Thompson. Specifically, who his parents were. He was born 1-3-1867 in Mn. and died 2-3-1937, in Flandreau, S.D. I was told his parents died when he was real young, and he was raised by his sisters mother Mrs. Prescott, in Morton, Mn.

I have conflicting records re. where he was born. The 1910 Census for Flandreau,Moody.SD lists his place of birth as S. Dakota, and parents as Minn.
the1900 Census lists him as born S. Dakota, Father S. Dak. and Mother Minn.
He lists himself born Sept. 1865.(1900 Census)
wife is esther W. born Jan. 1864 Age 36 born S. Dak. parents born Minn
children: Virginia D. born Nov. 1892 age 2 born S. Dak.
Clara born Mar. 1900 age 2/12 born S.Dak.

1910 Census also lists wife Esther now age 41 had 7 children 2 living.
children: Virginia D. now is age19
May A. age23 born Minn.,Father b. S. Dak., Mother born NE
Andrew J. (can't make out age) born S. Dak., parents born S. Dak
