Hermin, Thank you so much,,,,Were there two Emmas for Redtribe? Why was Joseph Philbricks name not Walker? Did Isabella have more than Johnson, Hopkins, and Walker for husbands? Did Robbie / Robert change his name to Philbrick also? Or maybe he changed it to Walker or Hopkins???
Thank you to anyone who has furthur infomation on this family

marnie: I don't know why Joseph Philbrick's name was not Walker, but I do know from documentation that he passed himself as Joseph Walker at Santee in the 1910 census, and also in South Dakota as Joseph Walker. My records don't indicate 2 Emmas, just the one. I have a James Hopkins, Age @35, married to Henriette age 25, and two sons Joseph and John Hopkins. The ref. is 1880 Census , Moody, Dakota Terr. I do not know for certain, if he is the same one that was later married to Isabella Johnson aka Redtribe aka Redbird.

Hermin On the 1900 census of Hill twsp, it has James and Elizabeth Hopkins with Robert as stepson and Lavinia as daug in law. James and Elizabeth being married 4 years so I guess they could have married after the Henriette. On the 1910 Hill twsp census, she is( Elizabeth again)age 55)with John B Walker and a daughter Mary age 10. On the 1920 Union twsp she is with John B Walker age 64 and she (Elizabeth) is age 73. Robert Johnson is directly under them on this census with a wife named Agnes with 3 daug., 1 son and 3 Grandchildren. I guess he didn't stay with Lavinia.(Peter Trudell's daug.) I do have 2 different marriage dates for Lavinia and Robert so maybe they were married 2 times. I also have Lavinia as married to Jesse Black 12-27-1919. I also have Robert's death date as 3-18-25 Thanks hermin, marnie

marnie: I have anidea. if youhave access to Ancestry.com, plug in John Red Tribe, birth and death dates, born Minnesota, died nebraska and see what comes up. then try using John Redbird andthe same data as before and see what you come up with.
