I was wondering if anybody out there can tell me any information on Mary Weston? What her Indian name might have been, who her parents and siblings were, who she might have been married to, her childrens names etc.

I ran across a Mary Weston today her parents were Philip Weston and Julia Hinajinwin. Not sure if this is the one you are looking for but thought I would mention it.

What a coincidence. I have Hinijewin(sp) listed as the wife of a Goodthunder. Great find Dawn!!
I also found 3 baptismal records in the Santee Agency Baptismal Ledger which shows 3 Trudells,whose mother was listed as Hinjiwin. Lucy was born in Sioux city ,IA, George and Eli were born at Santee. Frank Trudell, Jr. is listed as the father of one of the boys, along with Hinjiwin.
Is it possible that Hinajinwin and this Hinjiwin might be the same person?

Wow! I am looking for Julia, wife of Phillip Weston, mother of Mary Weston who married Charles M. Jones. Hermin, what info do you have on the wife of Good Thunder? Any help will be appreciated!

In looking at the list of women baptised at Fort Snelling, there is a "Hinajinwin" listed as #17 from Sara's list...do you have the parents' info on her? I wonder if this is Julia Weston?

According to the 1885 Flandreau Census there are a couple of Mary Westons. The first one is the daughter-in-law of John Weston, age 63. She is 41, and her Indian name is Hinajinwin. The next one is the mother of an Eliza Weston, 35. Her Indian name is Hehotewin and she is 71. There is also another Mary Weston, age 5.

Parents: Cetanwicakte and Canhistenstanwin(sp), both dead
Spouse 1: Waduta. Married in 1871 at Santee.
Spouse 2: Julia Hinajinewin Age 44(1887 Census). Married April 20,1890 at Santee.
Spouse 3: Mary Chapman. Married May 13,1888.
children with Julia:
Mary Goodthunder Age 10(1887 Santee Census)
Mary Weston Age 11 Step-daughter(1887 Santee Census)

That is all I have girls. You might want to check out Flandreau Church Records. I don't know when Julia and Philip Weston got married or how(civil or Indian Custom)

I found a Julia Weston age 20 born @1850 in Minn. Ref. 1880.
spouse is listed as Gust St. cloud.
I can't find anything on Samuel Cloud or using St. Cloud at Ancestry, that says he was Indian.
I did find a Samuel Cloud born14 Oct. 1819,died 11 Oct. 1883. His wife was Elizabeth Case born 18 Aug. 1821, and died 28 Jul. 1882. They had a daughter Rebecca Matilda born 1 Nov. 1848 Swisher, Johnson,IA and died 7 Apr. 1900 Hurley,Turner,SD.
she maried Stephen Almond born 17 Jun 1830 Sussex, England, and died 14 Feb.1895 at P
Parker, Turner, SD. they had 9 children. ancestry One World Family tree is the reference. I don't know if they were Indian or Mixed Blood.
