Hi hermin, I believe the Johnson Redowl you are talking about is the nephew of Johnson Redowl (Aupetuwaste). George Redowl(Dowanna) and Johnson Redowl(Aupetuwaste) were brothers. The younger Johnson must have been a name sake! Debbie

I would have expected "Wastewin" to mean good woman but I am not familiar with the Teton dialect. They may use your term. Kitto

Hi, Does anyone have any info on Mary Tuttle, possibly Sbuwin. She might be the mother of John, Louisa and Isaac Tuttle. Nothing on her in the Santee census'. Louisa Tuttle was born in 1857 in Redwood Falls,Minn. Her Father was Joseph Flute(Oyeicasnamani). So I know Sbuwin was there in 1857. Anything on her would help!
Thanks, Debbie

Could there be more then one Mark Henry son of Patrick Henry? The 1887 census says he is dead at age nine, but Patrick Henry's will done in 1918 left everything to a Mark Henry and Lincoln Robinson.

Debbie,
Not sure if this helps but my GF was Mark Henry, and we are certified LD's. The Henry clan is certified through Fannie Robertson.

Joseph Flute (Oyeicasnamani) does anyone have any information on him? The information I have locates him on the scouts list with his wife Anna Flute and a step daughter. I have also found him on the 1867 census at Santee as left for B.S. (where ever that is? ) and he can be found with Anna in John Williamsons personal memorandum and in the 1st Presbertarian Church in Flandreau. However I have not been able to locate any more information on his death or children. On my great great grandfather John Tuttle's baptismal it states his father as Oyeicasnamani and mother as Sbuwin. Our family has yet to figure out how we come to be Tuttle's if Joseph is John's father. Also on the census records of Santee Tunkannahewin (Mary Tuttle) is listed with Isaac (John's brother) as his mother. If there are any members of the Flute family that can help piece this puzzle please do... Wazi

Hi. The B.S. that you mentioned stands for Big Sioux, meaning they went and settled at Flandreau. Sara

I believe that to be true Sara, in John Williamson's papers it states that Oyeicasnamani and Maphiyawastewin were received on July 3, 1870. I wasn't too sure because on the other site someone posted BS stood for Minnesota.
