Thanks Jackie that was pretty interesting web page. Do you know if the Judge has come back with a ruling yet on the motion to reconsider?

Interseting that they know which descendants they are waiting for (500 more) they knew this all along!!! If they all ready knew why the run around for alot of family's? I posted almost 10 months ago that they should allready know who they are looking for as descendants, the goverment allready knew.
Why didn't they post that along time ago, instead of saying we estimate over 2000 descendants will be attached to the case. It also said one responsible LD of each 1886 family would collect documentation for those grandparents, the rest just had to have there birth certificates( or something like that) So all these folks running around trying to find these documents didn't really have to becasue they had allready been gotten by the Lawyers and there experts and key responsible LD's. They just had to get there own birth certifiactes from the county they were born in. Hmmm, how nice. how very nice.
Good Grief!! Alot of anxiety for so many Dakota.
There website says the government has to inform descendants. So sit back and wait for the knock at the door you 500 left, either the government will inform you or Kaardahl will.
Have a great November! Native American Awareness Month Do you feel aware now!!!!
We got T-shirts made up for Christmas presents! They say....
My Ancestors Owned Minnesota And All I got Was This Lousy T-Shirt!
Ouch, Sara

Sara: I agree, somethin's rotten in Minnesota. It goes along with what I have been told by others. Buttes is setting up her own "tribal" council. Plus, records received by Kaardal's office are being shunted to Buttes for her "archives".which means that she will profit from them, in her own business,"Wicanpi Research Consulting,Inc". It makes sense to me, that she and Kaardal already knew who they wanted on their "Plaintiffs' List", and in their "Council", and they sent out letters with the packets to the descendants. so if you or your relaitves didn't receive a letter from them way back when, then you aren't on their predetermined list. That is why I told my friends here in Sioux City to make sure that they added a legally notarized document barring her and /or Kaardal from using the submitted records for thier own profit.

Interesting, and if you think about it, the gov't definitely has the ability to know who are the descendents. Sara you are so right. Like peacekeeper says "YOU GO GIRL!". And, I want to order a T-shirt too!

When your computer goes down you really miss a lot. Glad to see that Erick's site is up. Maybe things won't get so mixed up, instead of rumors we can read what is happening in court.
