Thanks for the reference. I checked it out and it appears that there are 3 issues of the journal Roots that may contain information helpful to those seeking their ancestors: Fort Snellling used as a prison:12.2, pages13-14 and 20.1, pages 4,32,33. Native American Settlements: 12.2, pages 3,5,6. Crow Creek(SD):12.2, pages 14,16 and 20.1 page 33. Vol. 12.1 is Fall issue for 1983 Vol. 12.2 is Winter Issue for 1984 Vol. 20.1 is Fall issue for 1991

Jackie: Minnesota Historical Society would have them. I will check and see if they are available for Interlibrary Loan. Otherwise one could request a copy of the articles. I don't remember how much Edith paidto have a copy made, I know it was more than $3.00. If they have it on microfilm, you can request the Sioux City Library to get it. I think it costs $3.00 to get it for 2-3 weeks. I worked for the Morningside College library in the late 60's and what I learned there is paying off.ha ha hermin
