Hello, I was wondering if anyone had a copy of the Court Of Claims No 22524 The Sisseton And Wahpeton Bands Of Sioux Indians v. The United States 1901. I have Johnson Redowls testimony only. I know The Historical Society in SD and in MN have it but I am unable to travel there at this time. Thanks in advance. Sara

I am very familiar with the contents. In the meantime, can you tell me what you are looking for? I might be able to tell you a thing or two... but then again.. maybe not!
We have had a number of similar halloween sugar OD occurences here.. mostly juvinile version.
My halloween laugh was my daughter camcording me with my nose in the computer saying. ".. this is my mother, -she doesnt really look like this (what???!!), she is busy looking for dead people!"

Isn't there a website about the federal court of claims. I'm sure I saw one somewhere. Maybe a search with firstgov.com? I know I can find it at the UM library if you give me as much of the title as you can. vmarier

LOL Tamara, I was interested in how many Dakota gave testimony and who they were. Thanks, Sara If memory serves they primarily took testimony in Sisseton and Devils Lake. I remember quite a bit from Samuel Brown. They also of course used Thomas A Robertson as an interpreter. Little Fish of Devils Lake. the same some issue of using testimony of persons who descendant of Scarlet Plume and Standing Buffalo but It was unclear to me whom they were. I am thinking they took testimony from Victor Renville as well. Also either Two Stars or Red Star.

Thanks Tamara, but still not the one I am looking for. Dennis is very interested in this 1901 Testimony as well.
It gives alot of detail about the fighting, and who was involved. Well at least Johnson Redowls testimony did, I have no idea what the others testimony had in it.

Yes, I know exactly what you talking about. And.. I did have a copy... (sigh) It is a very large document and filled with testimony. I understand from the man who gave me it, that it is hard to get. It seemed that there were stamps on my copy that showed where it came from and it wasnt local. I will see what i might be able to do. My aunt has a copy but she is away from home. She is my back up.. I leave everything with her in case I do something to short myself such as this.
