This is a photo of Stella and Melba Benoist that I found at the Timberlake, S.D. museum. If anyone has information on the two lovely ladies I would appreciate hearing from you. Thank you in advance, Grandma

Hi Grandma.
I don't have a whole lot of info on Stella and Melda, but here's what I do know:
Their parents were Ambrose Cyril Benoist (son of Louis Benoist and Virginie Primeau) and Elizabeth Isabella Whitney (daughter of Eugene Monroe Whitney and Mary LeCompte).
Stella Marie Benoist was born December 2, 1900 and Melda M. Benoist was born June 12, 1902. Their brother Cyril Ambrose "Butch" Benoist was born November 9, 1907 or 1909. Another brother, Roy Theodore Benoist, was born February 3, 1911. Yet another brother, Narcisse Benoist, was born August 14, 1915.
Melda married Bruno A. Wenner on April 29, 1925 in Brown County, SD. Cyril "Butch" married Evelyn Cecilie Whitney on October 2, 1926 in Lawrence County, SD. Roy married Connie Foster on April 5, 1940 in Potter County, SD.
Hope that helps. Happy holidays!

nice elktooth neck pendant.
there was a Louis Benoist who signed the 1882 treaty at Cheyenne River, and a Ponca Nee (Virginie) Primeau who married a Benoist.
