cute! Newbies! Jackie had formerly been checking her sources for people before Allie and Company gave us all the option to look ourselves and take some of the huge load off of Jackie who still remains very busy, knowledgeable and helpful. The website posted in various places on this board will allow you to look through the baptismals that previously were very hard to get ahold of. Thanks Jackie and Allie for all you do! ... and Herman1 for managing to see everything and missing nothing!!
Have a great day and happy "hunting" Tamara

check with the Minnesota State Historical Society at their web site: www.mnhs.org/they have the records of Bishop Whipple1859-1899, which include the registerscovering the fort snelling detainment period. the Church of St. Peter has the records of Father Ravoux or can direct you to where they are. also check the Minn. State Hist. Soc. for Rev. Riggs records and Rev. J.P. Williamson.

I would like a family tree on my dad's side of the family. He grew up in the White Swan Community. His name is Charles Kills Enemy and his dad's name was Mark Kills Enemy and his mother I think her name was Margaret or Sarah Kills Enemy. His Grandpa's name was Jonas Chasing Crane and the grandma's name was Sarah?. This would be so important for me since I do not know my dad's side of the family. I was trying to find out where they were enrolled also.

kiskiza, the website that is posted above your request i believe has white swan church records. however, they are still putting the rest of the records back online. wait until this weekend and then start going through them, or go through the ones that are back online at this point.

kiskiza: Charles Kills Enemy was born July 1 1909 and died Jul. 1985 at St. Francis, Todd, SD. that is all I could find for your immediate family. what id di notice is that there are alot of persons with the surname Kills Enemy at the Standing Rock Indian Reservation. that may be where you should check in re. to enrollment.

I have a hunch you tried to openm that pdf file on line. You need to select the jpeg files andgothrough them until you find the page the baptismal record is on then save it to your hard drive. then you open the file inyour photoediting program and adjust the size of the image so that you can print it off.

The Whipple baptisms are at the MNHS. You can search the archives and look up the call no. I don't think they digitized them but Mohrman and Kaardel distributed CDs with some Episcopal church records for SD on them. Check with your local tribal community college and they should have them. Mark Holman at the Sitting Bull College in Ft. Yates, ND will send you copies of the two CDs if you ask him. I have copies but are these church records the ones you want? vmarier
