Here is a page from the Langdeau family bible, showing birthdates, baptisms, marriages and deaths. It is very old and very hard to read.

Tamara, just out of curiousity, what families are you researching? Jimmy, I research a number of families, all of mine and quite a few others that I have been asked to. My biggest focus for years was on the Dakota Sioux Scouts at Ft Wadsworth. They still are my "first love" in Dakota history and an ongoing project. The Sisseton Reservation as a whole is a big focus as well. I am hoping to build a database that will be able to help others if we can develope our own historical society and ideally have a place for our own artifacts etc. I have a Paul WarCloud painting that I would like to see hanging in a secure place of that sort in the future. It was given to me by my late Grandpa who gave left me a gift greater than any inheritance of money or land. It was he, who showed me the lessons and powers of the past.. some of the family lines I have researched and am connected to are. The Robertson family that descends from Chief Wabasha and his daughter GreyCloud Woman. The Standing Buffalo Tiyospaye A man who was prisoner at Davenport then located in Turtle Mt. named Bogaga The Frank Stay family and Anna Hunka Joseph Demarrias Waanatan The Keeble family that is spread from the Sisseton Reservation to Crow Creek and even Rosebud. A "chief of a small band of sioux" named Mazapeta. A scout named Wamnuha or John Buffalo also known as KinyanDuta. The Roberts family of Sisseton Reservation. The Provencelle or LeBlanc family StJohn family of Sisseton and Crow Creek Mary Frenier who is the matriarch of so many of sisseton familes (also Santee and Cheyenne River, I think) The Lovejoy family connections to the wife of Sgt James King. This is not my bloodline, but I know the family, have much respect for their history and combined with my interest in the Scouts, I cant help myself, but want to learn and collect more. I just purchased a copy of a booklet printed in 1932 that has a narrative of William Quinn and James King and I purchased an old photo of him that I wish to add to the collection at Ft Sisseton. This is where I developed a great respect for Norma Johnson who cared about the native history at the Fort. The Wilson family line of Sisseton and Flandreau as it connects to the King family (this is my little brother's family). There are more.. but those are the ones that come to mind first.
