I am hoping to add some more of the U.S. Census records for various Sioux Reservations as I get the time. I was just wondering if anybody had a request for a certain reservation they are looking for or a certain year.
I'm happy to do it, but just remember it may be a couple of weeks before I get it up.

I will take a look, but just know that the chances of finding many Indians at that time is not good.

Sara had posted a 1869 census, I think that was what it was. However I have been unsuccessful to get a copy of her original. I have a back order at the LDS library for these records.

I have the originals of the 1869 census. Sara, do you want me to scan and post this? There's not much to it. The next census at NARA is the 1874 which is also transcribed on this site. As far as I know, these are the only two before the yearly censuses were started in 1885. If anyone can find any others, Jimmy can!

Jimmy, Yes I would like to see some census from Knox County Nebr around the 1860 to 1870. Sioux Well, I wasn't able to find much. In 1860 and 1870 Knox County did not exist, it was called L'eau Qui Court County. In 1860, the Santee Agency was not yet in existance. The enumeration for this county was only 5 pages, but I did find 3 Indians, and I am posting those images now. __________________________________________________ 1870 wasn't much better, there were only 8 pages total for the whole county. I found about ten Indians and mixed bloods on these pages: In 1870 there was only 1 page for the Santee Agency, and they were all white, however, there were a few familiar names, like Edward Pond and Samuel Hinman. Here is the page:

I would like to point out that I only have access to the U.S. Federal Census records, not the tribal censuses. Vicky, I would love to see the originals of the 1869 census if it is not too much trouble. BIG JON has requested I work on Santee, Flandreau, and Sisseton, so I will start on those next.
