BIG JON; What happened to the medicineman Yellowbird, who according to sme reports shouted encouragement to the youngmen, before the first shot was fired? he is not on the census Jimmy posted above, nor is he in your list.

One way to get a closer accurate count would be to find a cheyenne River Indian Census for 1885-86, and possibly 1887-88. the latter census if it exists would be preferable. ______________________ Update: No need to answer, Big Jon. Oneof the phots that are posted re. Wounded Knee on Oyate, shows the body of the Medicine man.
