I have finished the Pipestone Census and warning this is even larger than the Birch Cooley file. It has been brought to my attention that not everyone has the hard drive for such files. Therefore I am thinking it would be best if I dont just send out to everyone I think could make use of such files and if I have already sent to anyone in a similar situation with low speed connection or not enought space, dont open the attatchment or delete the email if you have such concerns. If anyone wishes for me to send the Pipestone Census 1926 to them, send me an email at TTordsen@aol.com. If any one has any tech suggestions on how to send and recieve larger files, I would appreciate it. It has been my thinking to scan and send them in a quality that would allow some of the hard core searchers the ability to work with some of the hard to read parts. We all know how important is it to get try to get the best interpretation of an indian name and often ones identity can hinge on the difference between a handwritten n or r. Certainly, it would be more conveinient to put such information on discs and send but time does not allow me that luxury and we are on a limit (sigh). Also if anyone has anything on file to share as well, I do appreciate and hope to make use of such things in the future, well after the lawsuit.
Tamara

Maybe you could post it on one of the free webhosting sites. I know the University uses an online file storage site for large files but I don't know how it's done. You could even set it up with a password that is posted on this website. How large is the file. When you sent it we could save it to a zip disk or CD-RW rather than on our hard drive. We should save to a disk or CD anyway to protect ourselves against computer crashes. Well I have blank CDs so send me a copy. vmarier

Here is the address of a free data sharing site. Sometimes they want you to agree to ads and junk mail if they offer to post your data for free so you have to be careful what you agree to. Search terms: free online data storge, free data storage, free file sharing, etc. Of course there are other sites and articles on free file sharing. vmarier fileshare.variousstuff.net/

Hello Tamara, I would like a copy also. When you have the time. You can send it in a zipfile if you wish as I would be able to open it. It would be easier and faster to send that way. And the Birch Cooley if possible. My e-mail addy is: S_Harmon167@yahoo.com Thank You very much for sharing. Later, Sandy

Tamara: How about putting it into a Zip file and sending it to whomever wants it?My reasoning is that someof us have a 2 Megabyte limit for sendingand receiving attachments. That is so wonderful of you to share yourfindings.

I hear you on that! - but I am still stuck in 46.0 kbps dial-up aka commodity internet access land! Denney! --are you sick of me asking for help yet??!!!LOL Do you have the pipestone census? I am pretty sure you do since I send you everything I come across to try to reciprocate for the things you sent me... can you send to those who are request it? ....(dang! no "begging" smiley)!!! I see that lots of the files Denney has or has been given he has been putting on the board for people to view from there. Titled and paged nicely. Could they be move those to the records to be shared section so people dont miss them? or moved to the area where people are interested in that specific file? If necessary I might be able to track down my newly (drivers) licensed son to see if he might put down the car keys for an hour or so and send from my home computer. Where theres a will theres a way! Tamara
