I don't see what running down Carl Leith, or anyone else for that matter, accomplishes, especially when the claims seem to be wildly exaggerated. With apologies to Mr. Leith, here are just a couple of his most recent comments on the "other" board.
These statements are consistant with the stance he has taken ever since I became aware of his involvement in this lawsuit almost 2 years ago. Making false accusations about how he has misled, and continues to mislead, people has been the work of the Lower Sioux/Shakopee anti-Wolfchild crowd.
I do not believe this forum is the proper place to place personal attacks against Mr. Leith, members of the "other" board, or anyone else for that matter. I do not believe that serves a purpose, and certainly not the purpose for which this forum is intended.

thank you wahachanka for a very educated post to clear up confusion that has spilled on to this forum. i don't mean any disrespect to cashmoney but erick's win/loss record, as far as this case goes, speaks for itself. he has faced an enormous opposition to overcome and basically has accomplished the impossible. it seems you are very sharp & educated cashmoney but i take wahachanka's posts as gospel. i hope i spelled everything correctly, please let me know if i didn't. Thank you for the kind words, dgberg. It is good to hear from you and I hope all is well.

Happy Father's Day to Everyone out there. Let us move on now with the primary purpose of this board and focus on helping and supporting each other. We all have opinions on everything that has happened. We do have the right to think what we want. I do believe though that we need to not create a situation that causes dissension among us. Focus for the good of all. Please no more arguing amongst us. Everyone of you is a necessary part of this board and I really enjoy talking to all of you. So lets move on, some of us can agree to disagree, and lets continue to build a factual resource base to help those out there who need help still. That has always been the way of the People in the past, we need to honor them by continuing in their footsteps. I also want to say that even I, an administrator, once incorrectly posted something that I was e-mailed in good faith. It was actually something negative. So even though I didn't do it out of spite, I did do it, and I am still upset about it. So yes, no one is perfect, we all have different opinions, no one knows the outcome, and last of all everyone is doing their best. NOW LETS FOCUS ON THE POSITIVE! HELP EACH OTHER AND WATCH AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS. And even though Carl does write some negative things about this site, he was very helpful to me in the past, and I do respect him. I hope that as time goes on, all of the People will unite. Peace to all of you on this day.
Jackie

It is through such differences in opinion that we learn and expand our own thinking. I would agree that there is some mention of large monies and planning what will be done with it. Also mention of take-overs and other events that certainly will remain to be seen. I dont think Carl can be held responsible for all of it and although I have seen some things I wouldnt agree with, like the rest of us, he is a human being too and if he makes mistakes, I wouldnt hold it against him. I think there are a great many things about him to be respected and it is a large task to take on managing a large number of people on a subject that requires opinion. some of the out of perspective comments and plans regarding money remind me of when Mr Eastman was ligitating the lawsuit to compensate the people after 1862, one indian agent said it caused a great number of people to place so much trust in recieving monies that they quit working and farming, causing themselves and their families much hardship when the monies didnt arrive... I would challenge anyone to show me anything more than a minor amount of "bashing" or unbalanced negetivity on this board. This board is clearly focused on research and and assistance to others searching. It is good to be reminded of that focus, and thank you.

I like this one,how impressive! I study law independently and learned A TON about Indian Law from my grandpa the last 5 summers. From just that, I honestly can say I would destroy Erick Kardaal in an argument (i'm serious too)

In answer to both of the last two comments, First No one knows what will happen when this is all said and done. There is much hope, speculation, and often rumors, but NO ONE can give us a difinitive answer until everything is resolved. The one thing I can say is I am proud to be here and be who I am. No court of law will change that fact. Would l like to be considered a descendant? Of course, we all would. I do know that I descend from a terrific family that overcame the worst travesties I have ever heard of, and we still exist. SecondThe spelling of the name has been different throughout history. The Mdewakanton has had it's name spelled wrong more often than right. Fighting among ourselves or making sarcastic comments to each other detract from the purpose of this site so please people lets all work together for the common good of all. Jackie I totally agree. Also consider the fact that our names, up until recently, have 'NEVER' been spelled before, just as books have never spoken for us either. A person can grow and they're mind can grow into something different years later, but the book'? It remains the same, it cannot grow wise, old and go to the spirit world. That's why our stories have lived for thousands and thousands of years, orally.

mona, you got that right! I like to read this...for one it is like an agenda. BUILDING BLOCKS that you can put together like playing chess if you will? Lets see...so far, you got lawyers, Judges, congress, BIA, Shakopee's lawyers... and so on, all of these parties have a roll. I don't know guys...this looks pretty deep to me!
50/50% chance?

Oh yes' it's pretty deep. There are two scenarios here. One, the powers that be are more than likely trying to figure out ways to either squeeze people into this (who ever will be a part of this, if anyone) or trying to squeeze people out of this. How do I know this? I'm thinking of it in mathematical terms. Also, I once read a good qoate, or a part of one, by some poet (I'm not serving justice by not remembering the name, but.....) who wrote 'I got history at my back, when times are changing'! We have the 'stories' at our back's (if you know them), so I think it is fair to say that we can see what the most likely scenarios will be.

I have a relative who's close to the firm and said he's a little worried because Eric has been getting schooled in court (dispite what you would hear from Carl). The judge time and time again told Erick "you aren't to clear on the topic" Erick appologized about 4-5 times to the judge for "not being clear" cashmoney: Thank you for your comments. I joined the board recently so behind in these personals. From what I've read so far in submissions to this Court, we have to give the initial Plaintiffs credit for bringing this case in the first place. No matter who the lawyer is for all involved they are all legally trained and competent to represent all the clients. Apparently everyone with this case will get their day in court and we need to do as much positive and productive research in order to get to that point. I just want to thank everyone for the opportunity to express oneself through this board it is very much appreciated. To all of us, study hard look for the pros and cons to an argument and prepare yourself in the days ahead. Let us work together and give each other guidance and reassurance in uniting cooperatively as our ancestors would have wanted. Thank you. This is wanbligi on January 17, 2007 at 5:20 p.m.
