My dear friend, Lorraine Isburg Flaws from Chamberlain, SD passed away on Feb. 18, 2010 at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD after a short illness. I had been doing genealogy for Lorraine since 2002, shortly after she was inducted into the SD Hall of Fame. We spoke almost every day and we had a lot of fun going places to do the research. She was born Aug.27, 1927 on her grandfather's (William Carpenter) allotment land on Brule Bottom which at one time was part of the Ft. Thompson reservation. She had a wonderful life, owning her own construction business for 30 years here in SD, plus over 20 years of working in Las Vegas. She was a Gaming Commisioner and General Manager of the Lode Star Casino when it opened from 1993-1996. She will have a traditional Indian burial plus a Memorial Service. The notice will be in Mitchel paper Monday. I will miss so very much and plan to continue researchin for her.

So sorry to hear of Lorraine's passing, the last time I talked to her I told her I was looking for that picture of my Grandma Rose Carpenter that Loraine said she would love to see. Well I guess she is with all her relatives again. Just feel bad my ex-husband could never find the album with those pictures in it. Please give my sincere condolences to all. Dawnday
