I came across a statement that was written in Dakota, it was recently translated for me.... John Panaha killed a young white man. JOE HUSTE brother after the was were all killed beside the Wajaju Wakpa. John Panaha went to town but was caught abd hus head was injured. The presbyterian meeting was there and know for sure what he said.
Who is this Panaha and Huste? Thanks, Sara

Huste , in the Lakota, could mean lame. The closest thing I could come to Oicobe, if its spelled wrong, is oicage(grow up, growing) or oicazo(a mark or marking). Hope that helps!
