Big Jon: I think you already provided the info on the top half of the tree. On the bottom half of it here iswhat I found; Nancy Stone's mother was Julia Stone and her father was Hakanhdipepa maggie Myrick is actually Maggie DeWitt, and her father was John DeWitt(ref. notes from Ellen Wakute's probate testimony.)and Nancy Stone-Myrick-Wakute-Wapaha. I believe Cassius conger was born @1840 at Ft. Vermillion,Union,SD. His father was major Conger, the US Indian Agent for the Yankton sioux. Mother n/a. (ref. http://www.familysearch.org). Incidently Mr. conger was Julia Bruguier's 2nd spouse.(ref. http://www.familysearch.org) As for George Lawrence, I have 2 George Lawrences, one named George G, and onenamed George C. the Lawrence and George C. Lawrence. Both apparently had a son named Guy. Lorenzo Lawrence I found on the 1850 Minn. Territorial Census for lac Qui Parle and Big Stone
Lake, Dakota, . He was born @1820, Age 30 yrs. born in Minnesota.andd was unmarried.I also found him with wife isabelle and son Levi in the 1880 US census for Twp. 120,Grant, Dakota Territory. Lorenzo was 56 at teh teime, his wife was 33, and son Levi was 21 yrs old.

Linda Lawrence was my grandmother, she was the daughter of George Goodthunder Lawrence and Maggie Jewett. George G. Lawrence's father was Lorenzo Lawrence and Louise Lawrence. I was told that she was the Good thunder. I can not find that info. I found her Indian name on this site under one of Big Jon's postings. Does anyone know how Louise Lawrence is a Goodthunder? Thanks

Hello
I found a document at central Nebraska dated 1902 Decree a petition was made by George C. Lawrence grandson of Tawaicin She was married three time 1st was Andrew Goodthunder, she had three children Hanyetuwastewin, Alfred Goodthunder and Hapstin. Court finds Hanyetuwastewin is dead and she left two surving children George G. Lawrence age forty residence know county Nebraska and Daniel Westerman aged thirty five residence Redwood Falls Minnesota. The Court further finds the name of the husband of hanyetuwastewin was Lorenzo Lawrence and that he is dead. the second child of Andrew and Tawicin is Alfred GoodThunder he fifty four years of age and resides Knox County Nebraska and finds the third child of Andrew and Tawicin Hapstin is dead. she died about 1864 unmarried and without issues 2nd Husband Black Tiger Tawicin had no children. Black Tiger died 1859. 3rd Husband Mareiyokinajiin and he died 1862 no children with Tawincin.
Now didn't the story go Lorenzo Lawerence went with Little Crow to claim his place as chief. Lorenzo shot one of Little Crows brothers and married his wife. Hope this helps the document is copied on the long paper and I dont know how to reduce it. Sorry

Hi - I can not thank you enough for that info. Big Jon said he would post the document that you found. This is way cool. To finally tie Louisa Lawrence to her maiden name is totally awesome. Back to the story of Lorenzo Lawrence and Little Crow.....In the book, "Little Crow Spokesman For The Sioux" on page 44 and 45 it tells about the story that you are referring to. Little Crows half brothers wanted to assassinate him, but instead he lived and the story goes on to tell how Lorenzo was a part of the execution of the half brothers and even tells how he went on marry one of the widows of the men he helped to kill. It was an interesting story. thanks again
