Sunshine: I would appreciate it if you would look in the Woolworth collection for any information on Francoise Langie/Langer/Longee and his spouse Tasinahotewin, and also mary Jane Wakute Robinson aka Wagiwin(she was a daughter of Wakuta). God Bless You for your generous offer of help. My Email is dakounas@yahoo.com

You guys are HILARIOUS!!!!!! If this website ever closes, I will be in Oyate withdrawal for a LOOOOOOONG time! Speaking of Motherly, one of our ten year old adopted boys set the garage on fire on Memorial Day. A long story, huge mess, but no major damage by the grace of God, as He had given my husband a dream that something was going to happen and we were very vigilant that weekend. As part of his punshiment for not respecting the rules and putting the family in danger, he lost family privileges. We got him a little one person tent, a PB&J sandwich, bottle of water and was told to kiss his bed goodbye and sleep in our field, a few hundred yards from our house. Of course, I didn't sleep all night with him out there! The next morning I got him up and asked him if he was a little scared last night-the coyotes yipping and cows mooing, etc. I just wanted him to be just a little scared to be able to appreciate his family a little. This little guy looked at me with huge sorrowful brown eyes and said"No, Mom. I KNOW that you are always there for me!" All I could say was "ok God, I am no longer mad at this kid".. Talk about Gods' GRACE! My case manager has wanted me to write a book about these kids for years. I think that I will call it,"What my children have taught me about GRACE" Valere

I think that I will call it,"What my children have taught me about GRACE" Valere All jokes aside, I would be first inline to purchase one and first inline to have it autographed by you, your husband and each of your very large family. I LOVE every refernce you tell me about your children either in PM or on the board. I love the title as well. Incredible as the Mother's day gift of repairing a flat tire.. (I will let you tell that one). One of the biggest blessing I find in all of Wolfchild is meeting persons such as yourself... and of course I can count on Jimmy to accent a point! LOL

An update o n the Chilson collection. There are actually 70,000 books in the total collection. I had the librarian email me a list of what USD had while I was there, so it would be easier to forward to you. I will forward it tonight when I get home from work. It is 10 pages long. Their collection is extensive. There is NO book specificly entitled Dakota Scout List. I had the librarian look for me on what is called WorldCat-a listing of all of the books available- period. We may have missed it, but we certainly tried. I will take a look at my copy of the Through Dakota Eyes and see what it says. Some of the books listed are only in Chilson, where you can't take them out, some are in both categories, take out and Chilson and then there are other Santee titles all for take out. The other thing guys is they have a law library of Santee stuff. Will get to that next MOnday. I know that the Godfrey family has received papers from them saying that they paid taxes on Josephs' land for years and were not supposed to because it was part of an allotment. Thus, whoever owned the land at that time, got money back!!!!!!! Darlene is going with me MOnday, so we can cover more ground faster. Val
