Hi Jimmy, I was with my mother, Virginia S. Goodteacher / Whipple last night and she always tells stories about this and that. I was telling her about you posting the last picture. And she then went on to tell me a short story about Thomas Rouillard. I do believe he was your relation? Anyway, back to the story. I will try to write it the way she was telling it: I was down at the Rouillard's with Ethel His Law. We were shackling corn with Mrs. Rouillard (She could not remember Mrs. Rouillard's name). Mrs. Rouillard was married to a Geniece (?not sure on the spelling) before she married Thomas Rouillard. She had a boy and a girl from Geniece. Her first husband got killed in a Rodeo. It was after that she married Thomas Rouillard. They had only one child - Alice. Alice was married to a Cadott (?). He was a very nice looking Indian man. Anyway, we were down shacking corn by their house, you know the house by the old church. (This house has since been torn down. What a bummer! It was a really neat little house). She went on to say, Mr. Rouillard came walking by and said to them, "You save some of that corn. I want to give some to my cousin, Cecelia." My mom said he said it in a snobby sort of way. His nose up and his pipe in his mouth. She said he always walking around with his pipe hanging out the side of his mouth. As he turned and was walking away, Mrs. Rouillard said to him, "Go to hell!" She thought this was very funny. Of course he did not hear her, she said. My mom told me his cousin was Cecilia (?not sure of the spelling) Mitchell, but she was a Trudell before she married. I hope you enjoyed the short story.

Mrs. Rouillard was Rose DeCory. Their daughter Alice Rouillard married Wilfred Warren Cadotte from Standing Rock.
Cecilia (Trudell) Mitchell and Thomas Rouillard were 2nd cousins. Cecilia's grandmother Mary Iciyapewin was the sister of Thomas's grandfather, Henry Wambdisun.
Thanks again for the story, I love hearing the stories about people.

Came across some probate papers for a Silas Rouillard, he was listed as was the son of John Anpeduta Rouillard and Mary Wambdisun. Silas was brother of Thomas J. Rouillard. Thomas J. Rouillard was the Husband of Rose Decory (Edwards), my great grandmother--her daughter Hazel Mae Edwards Jenesse(1913-2003) was married to Nelson Davis Jenesse (1909-1986). I am still working out the details but it looks like Rose Decory was at one time married to an Edwards with whom she had two children Hazel and Ethel (no real leads on first name of this Edwards or what happened to him yet--maybe killed in a rodeo?) before she married Thomas Rouillard. Still working on this.

Rose DeCory was married to Herbert Edwards b.1878 in Ashland, Nebraska. I believe she has 3 children with Herbert, Herbert J Edwards b. 1911, Ethel Marion Edwards b. 1912, and Hazel May Edwards b. 1913. I believe she had a 4th child with Thomas Rouillard, Alice Gertrude Rouillard b. 1920.
