Hello! With the help of many people I have been able to figure out many mysteries in my family tree. It has been exciting and interesting. I am now trying to fill in the missing pieces. Thank you in advance for any help or advice you may be able to offer. =)
I am looking for the father (or parents) of Julia Pineau *various spellings of the name. Julia was born in 1818 in Nebraska. She married a Finnie (Freemont or Freeman) Douville. The children of Julia and Finnie are listed on the Nemaha Half Breed Land Allotment of 1860. I have a hunch that Julia's father may have been a Louis Pineau. I read somewhere (now can't remember where) that he was married to a woman named Marie who was a half breed of an Indian woman and a French fur trader. That is all I have to go on. I do know that Julia was born in Nebraska and was still living in Nebraska in 1860. Any help or information at all, no matter how small, would be very appreciated. Thanks. =) Jenn

When did she marry this Douville? Do you have any information on their children? How are you related to these persons?

jenabr: it is possible that Joseph laDeaux's father Abraham could have come fom France to new orleans, and then St. Louis, o rom France to Canada then to St. Louis. have you checked this out? My listing of the nemha halft Bred Tract allotees does not include anyone with the surname Douville or anyone with the vaiou spellingsof Pineau.

Hi, Hermin1! Thanks for taking the time to look at my info. I don't know what year Julia and Finnie married but I do know they had a son, Meddor born about 1850, other children were Amelia, Felicitie, and Louisa. I did notice that their last name was misspelled on the land allotment list. It is spelled "Ducille". Also, Meddor's name was misspelled as "Bedor".
I am connected through Julia's and Finnie's daughter Amelia. She married a Joseph LaDeaux *various spellings. Their daughter Josephine LaDeaux married James Henry Emery. One of their daughter, Josephine Emery born 1901 was my great grandmother. She married Thomas Hale and they lived on the Rosebud in SD. My grandmother is one of their daughter and her name is Myrtle. Her health isn't very good and she easily forgets so it is hard to ask her anything.
As far as Joseph LaDeaux's father, Abraham, all I know about him is that he was born about 1805 and married Susanne Marly on March 7, 1839 in St. Louis. After Susanne passed away he married Marguerite Gaillette in 1850 in St. Louis. Susanne was the mother of Joseph. It would make sense if he came from Canada or France...through New Orleans possibly. I would love to find more on him but just can't seem to find the right place to look.
Once again, thank you for all of your help. =)

My listing of the nemha halft Bred Tract allotees does not include anyone with the surname Douville or anyone with the vaiou spellingsof Pineau. Abraham LeDeux's family is from Canada and for a time lived in St. Louis before going to Nebraska. His son Joseph (from his first marriage) married a women named Amelia Douville. Their 6 children are listed on Indian Roll Call under name LeDeux. He is the son of my 3rd great grandfather (my gggrandfather, the half-brother, was son of Susanne (Susana) Marly. This is what I have discovered so far. I have more info that can be seen under Cusick Family Tree (if you have access to ancestry.com). Respectfully, Phyllis

Phyllis, thank you for the information. I am sorry I don't have access to ancestry. No wonder I couldn't find them on the Nemaha roll.
