Sara: i have that MazaHota was b. @ 1809, and died before 1862 in MN.His father ewas Wanjica, mother was Scarlet Dove, and Gr. father was Chief Black Dog. maza hota also had John Smith/Tunkancandeska,Tipona,Kahdiwin/Eva Eagle,runs After His Tracks, and medicine bottle. cousins werewhite Spider, and wife of Louis Carbonneau dit provencal dit la Blanc.

Now, do you have a source for this?
I know he signed the 1851 treaty along with Big Eagle and Wakanojanjan, so I am surmising between 1851 and 1858 he died.
I came across a portrait of him and wanted to put a small Bio of him with the portrait for an article.
I figured there was a close family connection Between Black Dog and Mazahota. And I recently came across a portrait of Black Dog done in 1830's. Cool stuff. Thanks again.

Sara: I went to ancestry.com for the information on Jerome big Eagle. One of his daughters Clara married Joseph Saul. Mazahota was also called iron Hoop.another soure I used was Big Eagle gave an interview,which should be on the net. those pitures are a good find!!!

medicine Bottle and Little Six fled to Canada,but they were laater kidnapped and brought back to Minnesota where they were tried and Hung at fort snelling, I believe in1864/1865.
