Fr. Madlon's Renville tree notes that Adam Cahota Ashes married Eliza "Red Hail". But, using his tree's as only guidelines, I came across ICS records that indicate her Indian name is:
Oyankemazawin or Oyankemagawin
This is what was transcribed from the original. Searching I found Wasu (noun) for Hail. Maza = Iron and Maga = goose or geese.
I tried to find Oyanke using different formats and could not find anything. Any one with more knowledge than I, if you could help me here, I surely would appreciate it. Thanks
