I'm looking for any information on my Great Great Grandmother Mary Ann Hill. She married James William Waln on August 13, 1908.
Mary Ann had a daughter named Amy Hill also called Emma Hill, she's my Great Grandmother. She passed away when my Grandmother was 10 so we don't have any other information on our family.
I'm also interested in finding information on Lizzie Hill who was my Grandmother's Aunt, and her siblings were Robert Hill (b. 1876), and Susan Hill (b. 1879)
All are enrolled members of the Oglala Sioux Tribe on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, Porcupine District.
It's a sad feeling to not know where you truly come from.

I could not find anything on Mary Ann Hill or James William Waln at Ancestry. Lizzie Hill and her sibs Robert, and Suzie Hill were the siblings(correction)not the children, of Antelope woman. White Cow was antelope woman's child. (Ref. 30 Jun 1895 Pine ridge Census sioux and cheyenne Tribe.
Robert was married at least twice t: first to a non-indian and they had Louis Hill,Jr., Leah Hill,Lucille Hill, and,Louis Joseph Hill. Robt then married Lulu Bordeaux, sometime betwee 1928 and 1930. but I don't know if they had any children, ancestry gave me the Pine ridge Census to 1937. Lizzie E. Hill I found on 1920 US Census Fort. Totten, Benson, NDakota. married to George W. Hill,(added correction: George must have been maried before to someone else before he married Lizzie. George had the following children :Emerson,Esther O.,Evelyn, Annie C., and Roland P. Hill, by a previous mariage. The children were all born in Wisconsin as was their father, their mother born south Dakota. _________ update: antelope Woman also had a daughter Comes Out Holy, born 1892.

Amy Hill died Dec 31, 1920. She was my great grandmother. Mary Ann Hill was her mother, my great great grandmother, who married James Willam Waln. Robert Hill married Lulu Bordeaux in or around Rosebud, I have the lineage from that marriage showing how the Hills, Bordeaux's and Walns are related

James William Waln (1827 - 1894) was a non-native man who married Mattie White Bonnet (b 1858). Their children were Lizzie Waln (1875 - 1947) and Robert Louis Waln (also used Hill) 1877 - 1945). My great grandmother was Susie Hill (not Susan, all legal papers list her as Susie. b.1880 Wyo Terr. - 30 Sept 1907 Merriman, Neb.) She died from TB leaving her husband John Y. Sechler, Jr and two children Venie Earl and Ruby Gertrude, Ruby was age 5 at the time of her mother's death. Ruby and Earl lived on the reservation. Earl had married but had no children; Ruby married and had four children. James married a second time, wife's first name is Mary. Mattie also married a second time to another non-native, his name was Isaac Hill. Isaac died 1896. I have additional information on when and where the children attended school etc. Please feel free to contact me.

Ruby: I am the granddaughter of Amy (Emma) Hill Adams and am searching for information on my grandmother and great grandmother. I have known Susie and Amy to be sisters. On one document from Carlisle it shows the father of Amy to be Isaac Hill. I am interested in any information you might have on our family. Thank you
