Very nice Hermin. Thanks for posting and for my package I got in the mail yesterday. Jackie the first child on page one of that package that was baptized by Father Hoecken, was Louisa dickson, daughter of Mr. william dickson. I was able to make that out from the latin enteries of hoecken's journal that Jimmy Posted.

Thanks Hermin1 for the post. When I look at this type of data, it gives me a clearer picture of what our ancestors had to endure. In reading about the description of why they enlisted, reminded me of what the United States did to our ancestors to coerce them into doing what they wanted them to do. If they didn't conform then they were either considered "Problem Indians" and sent away to prison, insane asylum, starved out or killed. I see one of my ancestors names on this list.

Healing is a long, slow process. Make sure to take your time so you don't have a set back... We are here and have no plans to leave for anyplace else. Jackie
